The Daughters of Charity are a community of women in the Catholic Church who have been serving Christ in people who are poor since 1633.
Is God Calling You to Be a Daughter of Charity?
“For I know the plans I have for you…”

Our founders St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac received the charism (gift from the Holy Spirit) and the vision of a group of women who would care for and serve those who were sick and poor. The Daughters of Charity became the first group of consecrated women in the Church to serve outside of the cloister walls. That first calling of the original sisters in 1633 is the same calling that women are answering today.
