At 4 o’clock P.M. we went to see Father Maller. About 5 o’clock Mother Etienne took us to supper. About six o’clock the stage came to take us from our dear Home – stage too small, only four went in it to Emmitsburg; the other three Mr. Brawner took in the small carriage, as the barouche had only one wheel. From Home to Gettysburg, trying to be cheerful, but oh! how difficult a task.
