Heard Mass again at St. Joseph’s Church, New York, and received Holy Communion. Mrs. Mann accompanied us. They were all very kind to us, but told us they were very much afraid to have us remain under their roof, lest the house should be mobbed, on account of the excitement caused by our dress. On our return, we heard that our passage on the ship had not been taken. At 7 o’clock, Father Quinn came, and offered his services, to do anything in his power for us and said that he would try to take our passage next day.  Sisters M. Ignatius and Corsina went to see Father Lutz and to learn something about the clergymen who were to accompany us. Soon after they called.
